About Me!

Hi, I am Taylor Mae Dorenkott, and I am the face behind Taylor to a T! I am currently pursuing a major in Legal Studies and a minor in Marketing at Belmont University in Nashville, Tennessee. I also am on the women’s soccer team at Belmont, GO BRUINS! I was born in Las Vegas, Nevada and have lived in three states since. Sunny Orlando, Florida is the place that I call home in the offseason where I live with my my mom (Gretchen), my dad (Mark), my brother (Alex), and our fuzzy labradoodle friend (Tucker)! My favorite color is pink, I love the beach, and cozying up to read a good book is my favorite pastime, so let me know of any recommendations under the Contact Me tab because I am on the hunt for my next read!

Being both a student and an athlete at Belmont has had its fills of highs and lows, and I am here to share it all. The aim of this blog is to share tips, tricks, and personal stories that will enable prospective collegiate student-athletes or students in general to make the most of their college experience. By keeping everything “to the t”, both difficult and lighthearted topics can be covered in a raw and honest manner, while keeping true to the overarching theme of having some great big fun no matter the mountain or valley. From recipes to bible verses, testimonies to top tips, all the things will be discussed right here at Taylor to a T!

When I first moved to Nashville, Tennessee at nineteen years old, I had no idea what was coming. Having to figure out a lot of a major steppingstones in my life on my own and later with the help of the amazing community right here in Nashville has enabled me to speak about a lot of topics that I believe affect more people than we think. Not only was the transition from high school to college completely new and difficult, but coming to terms with mental health struggles, navigating the unknown territory of being both a student and an athlete, and eventually applying for law school have taught me so many lessons that I would love to share with you. In turn, I hope that this helps those that will eventually walk in my shoes to have a better, brighter, and more informed experienced.

I have been playing soccer since the age of five, so for the past sixteen years of my life. And boy, have I learned a lot along the way. As the longest and most transformative chapter of my life thus far comes to a close in a few short weeks, I will be stepping into the unknown once more. This time, though, I will have far many more resources to help me along the way. Throughout the life of this blog, I will be featuring some of these in the hope that you can learn from myself and them as well! I am currently applying for law school, so this is another transition where the Taylor to a T community will come in handy. As I am learning along the way, I will be sharing my top tips and testimony from my unique experience as a student-athlete navigating this field as a first-generation law student. Also, feel free to share any comments or questions that you may have about law, college, athletics, or just life in general through the Contact Me link! One of my main goals for this blog is to create a loving community that communicates in an open an honest manner to promote learning and growth, and sharing our experiences can do just that!
